The Database Service maintains a full catalogue of ISR products contained in the SCi-Toolset's product store in the form of metadata. When ISR products are ingested via Discover, Progress, or X, the files are parsed to extract metadata and this is added to the SCi-Toolset's database. Multiple instances of the SCi-Toolset can be connected, allowing synchronisation of the metadata between catalogues. This gives users a holistic and rich discovery at their fingertips. The database also implements STANAG 4559 Edition 4 AEDP-17, enabling interoperability with other Coalition Shared Databases within a NATO partnership enterprise.
The Database Service is an integral support service to the Discover, Progress, and Contour web applications. Synchronisation of catalogues is managed in the synchronisation manager in Discover and is an additional licenced feature of Discover.
